GIVING BACK ■
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you success, you share it.
Since 2007, I’ve actively volunteered my time to support the career growth of the next wave of technical talent. I regularly give job seeker, employment, and life skills presentations to schools and organizations.
Now, I’ve found another way to give back.
For every full time placement I make, I’ll be sending a donation in the hiring manager’s name to Blessings in a Backpack.
That donation will feed a hungry child every weekend of the school year and will help Blessings in a Backpack fulfill their mission:
Keep kids from going hungry.
Every weekend, 13 million children in America—one out of every five—leave school without enough food waiting for them at home. That means that every Saturday and Sunday, they go hungry. That leads to worse things than just a growling stomach. Hunger can cause serious health problems, shorten a child’s attention span, keep them from making good grades, and even lower their IQ.
That’s why Blessings in a Backpack sends kids home every Friday with backpacks full of nutritional food for the weekend.
